The DH Center offers two types of podcast studios: a DIY studio ideal for quick solo recordings or small group sessions, or our professional Multitrack Podcast Studio. Once you get to the Digital Humanities Center (located at the bottom of the Library Dome), please come to room LA 61 V or N to be let into the studio.
The DIY/One and Done Podcasting Studios (LA 61 J and K) include the following equipment:
- USB microphones
- Table-top "whisper room" sound proofing
SDSU community members interesting in using our Podcasting Studio should bring their own laptop, or check out a laptop at the Circulation Desk. Podcasting equipment cannot be checked out or removed from the DH Center. Please also make sure to bring your own headphones. The mic connects via USB, so you may need a USB-c (lightning) adapter depending on your device.
The Multitrack Collaborative Podcast Studios (LA 61 H and L) includes the following equipment:
- Rodecaster Pro Podcasting mixer
- 4 Shure SM7B microphones
- Channels available on mixer for communicating and recording with individuals face to face and remotely via Bluetooth, Headphone line in and USB
- Wrap around headphones for studio guests
You'll need approximately 10 GB per hour or recording so bring a device that can receive the transfer of a file that size
